Stranger: and now New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia have some towns which are starting to flood

Stranger: because the eastern states have had a drought for 5 - 10 years, the ground is so compact it's not absorbing water. now that it's raining super heavily the water doesn't absorb into the ground and floods the rivers
Stranger: ummm, global warming could amplify it but it's not the cause
Stranger: it's because of something called El Nino, which is the changing temperatures in the Pacific ocean
Stranger: it rains heavily every 3 - 7 years, just not normally this bad
You : oh, I see. eL nino also make bad weather in my country
Stranger: yeah, it's affects all of south east asia and south america
You : humm, the earth is getting old :(

Stranger: well, the prevailing theory atm is the global warming is a natural occurence
Stranger: it's just humans have sped up the process
You : I think, sometimes people are too greedy, so oblivious to its natural
Stranger: well, unfortunately we are faced with a significant problem
Stranger: if we do cut back on the industrial sector to reduce greenhouse gases, then theoretically we would be unprepared for an ice age
You : yeah, what should we do then ?
Stranger: thats the same question that leading scientists around the world are asking
Stranger: the short answer? no one really knows
Stranger: of course, this is functioning under the assumption that the world exists long enough to enter an ice age
